Simple. You should care because there is nothing behind the curtain.
Affiliates have:
-
- No expertise.
- No authority in their market.
- Usually never even sat in a massage chair before - let alone the products that they are writing about.
- No responsibility to disclose who they are honest, nor where they are located.
- No company representing and standing behind a product.
- No relationship to, nor do they even know anything about the manufacturer of the products they write about.
- No responsibility.
- No liability.
But, they want you to take their advice on a purchase upwards of $10,000?
When on an affiliate site, you are very often being cleverly and stealthily being lead to buy one or perhaps two of the products they "review" in their list of 5 or 10 "top" massage chairs. How? They include a couple of chairs that are no longer being manufactured, so the link to Amazon is "product no longer available". So you go back to their site, huh, you think. That is odd. Nope, it was intentional. Many of the top 5 or top 10 lists being served on page one google, include massage chairs that are old technology developed a decade ago or more, and that no professional would ever recommend in 2019.
They often have a Pros and Cons section. To the unfamiliar person, these pros and cons may be persuasive. But, for all the wrong reasons. As a massage chair specialist - I just cringe when I read these. The Pros and Cons are so far off it is criminal. Most affiliates simply have no understanding of the products they are writing about and selling you on. They have never sat in these massage chairs, they do not have a firm grasp of the technology, and they are often regurgitating other on-line reviews.
Sadly, I also see massage chairs recommended that have no brand name, or chairs with little to no warranty. Often the "no-name" manufactures are actually located outside of the US, and have no actual presence stateside. That means no service or parts in the US either. Often these companies list that they are in California (near the largest ports of entry).
